Jay Rapoport

Jay Rapoport, MARE, is the Director of Lifelong Learning at Temple Sholom of Chicago. Jay rocks religious school, transforming Jewish values and humor into “Ruach Rock”, a catchy piano-pounding style of instant sing-along storytelling! He has served on the faculty of URJ Camp OSRUI, Song Leader Boot Camp and Nashir Teen Songleading Institute, and performed at URJ Biennials, NewCAJE conferences and NFTY Convention. His songs have been featured on Jewish Rock Radio, Berman House’s “Hebrew in Harmony” curriculum, NFTY’s “Ruach” series, URJ’s “Shabbat Anthology VII,” “NewCAJE New Voices,” and several PJ Library compilations. Jay honed his skills as a camp songleader and touring musician, incorporating original music into roles as Camp Director at Temple Rodef Shalom in Falls Church, Virginia and Youth Educator at Congregation Rodeph Sholom in New York City. In 2014 he released his latest crowdfunded album, “They Tried To Get Us, We Won, Let’s Rock!”
